Whatever the bollocks..

Post by Liam Dale » February 7th, 2018, 8:20 pm

It's piss-ass money.. which are just bits of paper we agree together.. are worth something to exchange for food and services.

I spent 1.5 hours on the telephone with an ex USA Marine today.. just fucking around making each other laugh.

Worth WAY MORE than all the bollocks and I want to thank him for making my life better today.

We put the "world to rights".. and I CAN WRITE WHAT I WANT on this forum.

Get me world? Welcome the ex pat MARINES.. who lived on the line.. and talk on the line.

Life is short.. cut the bullshit.. and look for the LOLS.

Liam

It was a great 1.5 hours and indeed I did laugh. According to the emails I have received this evening we didn't quite solve all the worlds problems, so a few beers and more planning are a must. After all the world depends on us....lol.

There really is nothing better than laughter to at least make us forget ours and all the troubles we see around us. I learned "gallows humor" long ago and while many don't understand, I really don't give a shit either. Hey, I can even understand English humor....lol. Life is too damn short to really give a shit what others think.

OK one small thing, there are no "ex Marines". Even the past Commandant said there are no ex Marines, just non active duty Marines. Ah, I don't really think they want this old Sgt. back...lol. BTW, there are lots of former active duty military around this area including a bunch of Marines that keep to themselves, until bothered. Brothers all no matter where from. And yes, I've met with some of my former enemies, although they are not of my generation. No longer enemies.

Thanks Liam.

Chinwag stands in line enlightened. No EX marines. One brotherhood. I lasted 4 days in the Army cadets at age fourteen. Belted a guy right in the face cos he tried to be cocky about my attempted uniform (1972).

Surprisingly my military career went no further after that date.

But look on the bright side: I woke up today to find the Ginger Minger wants to display his military wobbly bits in front of the world - Washington DC.
For ferck's safe.

I suspect in all fairness Marines young n old, here or there.. in situ or on R&R.. have truly more important things to do in the world.

Heh, Marines tend to be a no-bullshit, get it done type of personality. (unless, of course, they are telling 'war' stories! Then they were the best and the girls were the prettiest, or easiest, or the most wonderful, or all three!) 5555 But yeah, I don't have to know a guy to have his back if he is a Marine. Same as he would more than likely have mine. It is a brotherhood that lasts and crosses generations for the most part. Some people never got it, but they were pretty rare.

I see in the news that more Marines are going to be stationed in Asia as they are drawn down from the Middle East, so it should be interesting times. I am not at all sure how the typical conservative Thai would react to the younger Marines as they DO tend to be a bit over the top, some would say with good reason. :)

And yeah, no EX Marines, only Marines in a different duty classification. ;)

SgtSabai...somehow I get the feeling that I know you. :D

I am not sure how to spull BOOYAH.. but it is a fun word.. the retired marine I yacked with the other day.. he has some "take the hill" stories.. well, at least with Windows 10.. the rest we have to hope he writes here.. ;-)

Pretty close to how you 'spull' booyah. ;) In my day it was oo-rah, but booyah works too. 55555

I don't know where that "oohrah" comes from but It wasn't in my day. Came later. Stil in the Gung Ho, Semper Fi days. Ah you do know "Eat the Apple, F... the Corps", right? :D We were not a very "appreciative" bunch, especially those that came back from VN and got extended for 6 months. Today's young Marines are a far cry from our generation. Hell, they get courts martial if caught with a prostitute, no more fighting, ripping up a bar, only politically correct. We used to get "did you use a condom and did you win"? A few years back Marines were in Pattaya after an exercise with Thai Marines. Wasn't hard to tell the newbies from the guys that had been in the shit. One thing that struck me was their reluctance to talk and to "interact" with the ladies. I met a mustanger, Captain, at a friends bar and asked him why were the scared, "Indoctrination, all Thai women have Aids and any farang that talks to you is a spy."

They damn sure can still fight in combat. Maybe someday they won't have to.

You were in a few years before me Sgt. I am fairly sure that were we to use our vernacular on the young Marines of today, they probably wouldn't have a clue as to what we were on about. 55555

And yeah, I actually was in a situation where 'since you won' preceded 'you are all confined to quarters for 2 days'. (on a Monday) :D

I have to admit to being a little scurrilous here... Ooohrah.. is for sure courtesy of marines in most relevant movies.. BOOYAH is actually a phrase I heard on a not so subtle porno with some "military types".. where one guy was buried to the hilt in a female actress on her back with her pelvis raised 90 degrees and he then plopped his plums in her butt hole with 2 desert spoons.. at which time his colleagues yelled BOOYAH as all body parts slammed closed on his credentials.

There is a subtle difference possibly in this expression?

Ummm, I wouldn't know. I don't watch those types of movies. :? :o  I've heard booyah in 'regular' movies though, so might be the newer vernacular. I will stick with oo-rah. 5555
